Terrain Types

Some character classes prefer to live in certain terrain than others.  So, certain classes move & fight better in one terrain type than others.  This quick list page shows which class has what terrain type, and also how fast a character with that movement type moves over the various landscape that covers the stages.

A Terrain For All Seasons!

The chart below is meant for a quick reference to quickly find out which character class has what terrain type.  Plains is the most common, surprisingly with Low Sky being the next most common. As a side note, whenever a character dies, his terrain type is changed to Slow as long as he or she is dead, so it would be best to revive them and not have them slow down the entire unit!

Terrain Movement Speeds

You will notice that every single character ha s a number value associated with his or her terrain type. What this designates is the character’s influence on the total unit terrain type.  The higher the number, the more influence that character has. All of the large monster classes have high numbers because they are so big, for example. Once your unit’s terrain type is known, take a gander at the chart below. It the how fast a unit with a given terrain type will move over the countryside on a given stage.  It is not as clear but as you would think, so study it carefully!
